Bridal Couture Commissions

Brides usually make an appointment six to nine months before their wedding but I often book in brides further in advance. Each client has individual requirements which are discussed at the first free consultation. It helps if you have spent some time considering what you like and have collected relevant visual images. At this first consultation I can sketch your ideas and show you swatches of fabrics. I will then draw up a proposal and where required, a finished sketch of the design for a small fee, which is deducted from the final making price.

There are usually three to four fittings after measurements are taken. Each dress or outfit requires a toile to be made which is a prototype of your design. This helps refine the style and fit.

I break down the proposal between making price and cost of materials. This gives an opportunity to explore choices that can be made.

Full bridal gowns start from £700 (excluding fabric).

I ask for a £100 deposit and payment ahead for materials, then final payment on completion.
